Prayer – October ‘the month of the Holy Rosary’
Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.
Ngala Maya Yarning Circle
The opening of our new Yarning Circle was an incredible celebration of HCC’s connection to Aboriginal and First Nations culture. The Ngala Maya Yarning Circle showcased the inclusiveness of our community. I would like to thank Mrs Shenika Bennell, Mrs Christina Davini and the students and staff of HCC that made the opening a landmark occasion for the College. Thank you also to Mr Justin Martin, HCC parent, for his Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony. The morning has been wonderfully captured on our Social Media channels and I encourage all families to check out the photos and videos from the day.
CPSSA A Division Carnival
Congratulations to all the students that competed at the A Division Carnival on Thursday! We had some outstanding results at the Carnival with numerous students finishing in the top 3 for their age and gender. It was great to hear that we had many parents in attendance who were there supporting their children and their peers!
Parking:
A reminder to respect the privacy of the houses that neighbour our College when parking before and after schools. We have had residents complain and send through photos of cars illegally park on their verge. The City of Swan will be patrolling.
Parking is always difficult, but student safety is our priority. Please only park in marked bays and walk on and across designated paths when accessing the College.
LIFE Week!
What an incredible week we having coming up! The weather looks magnificent, and our staff and students are excited to embrace our vision of ‘having life to the full’. Next week is a compulsory school week and we will celebrate the growth of all our students across our LIFE week activities. Thanks in advance to the parents and caregivers for your attention to detail with start and finish changes in certain year levels.
Gospel Challenge
In this week’s Gospel from Mark, it tells us that Bartimaeus had faith that Jesus could heal him and knew he needed to get Jesus’s attention. When he was told to stop, he shouted even louder. Jesus was able to heal him without even touching him because he had faith.
The Gospel challenge for this week is to remind our students to keep ‘calling out’ to Jesus as he is all we need. His words alone can heal us.
Kind regards
Albert Borrello
