Da Vinci Primary

Primary Da Vinci is a Science and Technology programme at Holy Cross College catering for students with high academic potential in Years 5 and Year 6 in our regional Catholic Schools. It enables selected students to meet with their intellectual peers to strengthen students’ understanding of the process of scientific investigation whilst using areas of study not traditionally used in the classroom.

For selection into the programme students will be expected to complete particular tests either within their present school or through Holy Cross College. The programme is divided into two semester long programmes.

Students selected for the Da Vinci Programme attend Holy Cross College on Thursday mornings, 9.00am - 10.45am.

  • Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) was one of the world's greatest thinkers and scholars.

His talents spanned an enormous range of disciplines - artist, architect, poet, scholar, anatomist, optician, hydrodynamic, mechanical and military engineer, mathematician and astronomer. He demonstrated a superior ability to perceive the interconnected nature of knowledge and embraced learning with a lifelong passion and determination to uncover what was hitherto unknown by his society.

His bold and imaginative intellectual legacy is a permanent challenge for the leaders and thinkers of the 21st century.
